last week was exam week continuing today, Monday. out of boredom and the lack of anything decent to do, i've decided to go on a gaming journey. i've swept through forums and gaming sites scouring for past games that were nothing short of epic and brilliant.

simply put, i went on a downloading spree; music included.

music brings nostalgia to me. i've some of the artists i've listened through back during highschool like Keane, The Bravery, Hawthorne Heights, FM Static, and a lot more. i've also come a cross a lot of bands since then such as Artist Vs. Poet, Eleventyseven, The Ready Set, VersaEmerge and a lot more. come to think of it, i'm fixated to the scene genre nowadays.

as far as gaming goes for me, i've come down to the conclusion that my appetite for it is insatiable. game after game i just carry on. i've been a bowgun totting hunter, a thief in Midgard, a mercenary in a russian dystopia setting, a plethora of FF characters and a LOT more. funny thing was, it made me realize a lot of things.

in the digital age now, you can be almost anyone or anything. you can be a zombie, a god commanding over his people, or a general leading his legion to an epic sword-bashing event. but in the end, nothing beats the game called life.

it's a bit of a cliche to compare life to game, but basically it is. sans the savepoints, checkpoints, now loading and whatnot, you have an epic game in your hands. you play as you in this reality, and whatever you do amounts to what will happen in the future. you build relationships with other characters that play the game as well, and what you do counts.

funny how games can teach a lot of things without leaving the safety of your home. that is, if you internalize it.

i like playing games. i can be whatever i want, and i can do whatever i want as well.

but then. i wonder. when am i going to log out of digital gaming and start playing the one game that i have to concentrate on ?
